Some don't realize they are doing so.

There are so many reasons why some cut on themselves. I will share three personal experiences.

One) A girl, highschool age. Cut and scratched daily. This was a release for her. If she didn't cut or do something that brought her pain, she didn't feel alive. She was worried about not having that rush of pain to remind her. Even just the littlest scratch brought her satisfaction. It was when it didn't that you had to worry.
